CALLING ALL FEMALE SAILORS
2025 RBSA Women’s Sailing Opportunities (see attached flyer)
Cost: RBSA members free. $50 per day for non-members
Beginners Clinics – learn the basics of sailing on a Flying Scot and possibly transition to a Sunfish (Class limit of 6)
Six dates available, each 9:30 – noon on Tuesday or Wednesday with Thursday as a make up day if needed due to weather
Tuesday May 27 Wed May 28 Thursday May 29 (make up if needed)
Tuesday June 3 Wed June 4 Thursday June 5 (make up if needed)
Tuesday June 10 Wed June 11 Thursday June 12 (make up if needed)
Open Group – Beginner to Intermediate – learn basic to intermediate skills on a Flying Scot/Sunfish. Communicate specific needs such as docking a boat
Sunday Mornings 9 – noon starting June 22
Intermediate Sailing – Women participate in a variety of activities such as sailing upwind and downwind between buoys, sailing to a certain point (such as Thompson Island) or buoy, follow the leader, capsize drills, starting a race using a timed sequence, etc. May have social hour after class. Must be able to sail a Sunfish independently as determined by instructor.
Wednesday afternoons 3:30 – 6 pm starting June 18 (excluding June 25) with a class limit of 10.

When: 1:00 – 3:00 Tuesdays and Wednesdays June 18/19, June 25/26, July 2/3 (rain dates on Fridays)
DETAILS:
- Includes basic skills of sailing onboard Flying Scots learning to steer, trim sails, tack and jibe
- Opportunities for Sailing on Sunfish with an instructor

- Prerequisite: ability to sail a Sunfish out and back on your own-not advanced
- Mainly using Sunfish 1-2 people per boat
- Eash session will have a different focus such as
