Sailing Lessons

Sailing lessons are offered to any individual except children under the age of 6. Instruction can be tailored to meet your needs from the fundamentals for beginners to improving skills for novice sailors. Lessons can be scheduled from 9 am to 4 pm on any weekday, holiday or weekends from June 14 through September 3.  Advance reservations are recommended to ensure availability of class openings as well as the type of boat you want to use. Choices are: Sunfish; Daysailer (Flying Scot); or Catamaran (Hobie Wave).

Reservations can be made by downloading the RBSA Registration Form for Sailing Lessons (click here to download a copy) and submitting a completed copy of it, the medical release form and payment (see below for details) by email, postal service, or in person at the club in advance. You will receive an email from us confirming details of your reservation.

Registration can also be completed at the club between 9 and 4 based on availability. Classes fill up quickly so early registration is recommended.

Sailing lessons are $50 per hour for non-members and $40 per hour for members.  A 10% discount will be applied for sailors enrolling and paying together.

Any student below the age of 18 sailing without their parents or other responsible adult will need a medical liability release form completed and signed by the student(s)’ parent or legal guardian. Click here to download a copy. A signed copy of the release may be emailed to us or handed in separately prior to the start of classes.

Younger students may be required to pass a swim check.
