If you did not arrive early, you missed an excellent view of the Delaware Bay and the ongoing ship traffic. I arrived at 4:15 and caught the setting sun showing a great picture. The Banquet really got started about 5:15. Fifty-four members and guests enjoyed this fantastic RBSA end-of-season-banquet. Appetizers and cocktails got the social activities going. Commodore Jim Knab opened with announcements and everyone was seated. We were treated to an excellent salad and our choice for a great meal.
This was a great opportunity to socialize and meet new members. At my table we had a great discussion about the future of RBSA. Where will we be in twenty years? Sea level rise is one concern. What can RBSA do when there is already during a high tide boards and walkways floating around the RBSA property.
Commodore Jim addressed the party. He reminded everyone that RBSA is a fantastic club for all who enjoy sailing. It does not matter whether you are sailing competively or just enjoying a day on the water.
Commodore Jim continued with the presentation of trophies. Jim made the presentations for the Sunfish sailors. Many were not present but still received a round of applause. Knab and Joe Maida were the attending Sunfish sailors.
Don Walbrecht made the presentation to the Open Fleet. Sailors present were Don, Drew Collins, and Roger Anderson. Finally the presentation for The Dave Racine Cup. Third place Drew Collins, Second Place Don Walbrecht, and First Place Roger Anderson.
