sailing

  • Club Series Races: Each monthly series will each have at least three weekend days of racing, with 3-4 races every Saturday with a separate series for Sunfish and another series for Open Fleet/Flying Scots1. Low point scoring used (1=1st, 2=2nd, etc.) with throw-outs used as follows: 6 total races=1 Throw-out, 9 races=2 Throw-outs, 12 races=3 Throw-outs.
    º Sunfish & Open Fleet Warm-ups: May 28 - 12:00pm
    º Sunfish Series June: Every Saturday
    º Sunfish Series July: Every Saturday except July 3
    º Sunfish Series August: Every Saturday
    º Flying Scot/Open Fleet Series June: Every Saturday

    Start times for club series:
      º Sunfish: Skippers meeting at 12 noon; first race starts at 1:00 pm.
      º FlyingScot/Open Fleet: Skippers meeting at 12 noon; first race starts at 1:00 pm. (6 minutes after start of Sunfish heat.)

      1. This is a new schedule for 2017 and may be adjusted as needed during the season and the calendar of events will be updated to reflect any changes.

  • Fun Days All members are encouraged to participate (great opportunity for all members to socialize).

    This event is sponsored by Fleet 206 Flying Scots and is open to anyone including those members who would like to try racing. Have some fun and hone your sailing skills as well as the opportunity to meet other members on the water and afterwards for refreshments (BYO). Rules will be kept simple and competition will be light hearted.

  • Sunset Sail: Offered to the general public as a relaxing way to end their summer day as well as to introduce newcomers to the joy of sailing on beautiful Rehoboth Bay as the sun bids another daily farewell on the Western horizon.

  • The Social Committee is looking for volunteers and committee members for the 2016 season. Volunteers are needed to help with the set up before dinner and clean up after dinner.   • Open House: The general public is invited to visit and learn about RBSA facilities.  Members will be on hand to answer questions, explain various programs, boat rentals and sailing school as well as various membership options.
  • º Open House July 1 (Sat) 10 to 3pm

  • Kids Sailing Fair: The fair is open to all kids up to age 16 and is designed to cultivate an interest in sailing at an early age. Activities will include on-land hands on working a Sunfish, classroom sailing lesson, boating activity tables, prizes, exhibitors and games. A light lunch will be provided. Open to all members and the public including surrounding communities. Children 12 and under require a parent/guardian.
  • º Kids First Sailing Fair June 21 (Wed) 11 - 2 pm, rain or shine

  • Work Parties: Help us keep our facilities in good repair as well as looking good.  Join us for a few hours of light work on scheduled Saturdays followed by pizza at lunch.  This is a great opportunity to help the club as well as the camaraderie and bad jokes of your fellow members and friends of RBSA.
